Site Name HistoryThe site is thought to be named for a Villa from a 13th century land grant by the bishop of Fiesole to the Zatti family. The site is also named after its function.Historical NotesThe villa, originally built in the 16th century, was the home of the Allessandri family of Florence for more than two centuries. Bernard Berenson, class of 1887, purchaesd the villa in 1907.
