Site Name HistoryThe site is named after the Case family who acquired the core property for the botanical garden in 1863. James Case's daughter, Marian Roby Case, bequeathed the property to the Arnold Arboretum in 1942. The site is also named after its address.Historical NotesThe Case Estates is a botanical garden in the town of Weston, Massachusetts which is comprised of many land parcels that were acquired by the Case family and bequeathed the Arnold Arboretum in 1942. In addition to gardens the parcels consisted of dwellings and other structures. The Arnold Arboretum sold the entire estate to the Town of Weston in 2015.
