Site Name HistoryThe site is named after Edward L. Farrell, the University track coach from 1923-1935.Historical NotesThe "bubble", as it was known to students, was erected in 1968 to provide additional space for the track team prior to the construction of the Gordon Indoor Track. The structure was manufactured by Air Tech Industries, measured 300 feet by 150 feet by 60 feet, and was made of vinyl-coated nylon. It was located west of Palmer Dixon Courts. The structure collapsed in December of 1973 after high winds ripped through the nylon.
