Site Name HistoryThe site is named after its address and function.Historical NotesMount Auburn Hospital was originally founded as Cambridge Hospital in 1869 by Elizabeth Parsons but closed in 1872 due to funding issues. The hospital on the current site re-opened in 1886. It became known as Mount Auburn Hospital in 1947.
