Site Name HistoryThe site is named after Phillips Brooks (A.B. 1855), a prominent Episcopal priest, rector of Trinity Church in Boston, and Harvard overseer. The funds for the construction were received from over 600 individual donations made to honor Phillips Brooks.Historical NotesPhillips Brooks House was designed by Alexander Wadsworth Longfellow, Jr. (A.B. 1876) and completed in 1900. The building was funded by approximately 600 individual contributions. The building currently houses the Phillips Brooks House Association, a student-run public service and social action organization.
