Site Name HistoryThe site is named after its address.Historical NotesThe building at 5-7 Linden Street was built in 1839 as a two-story double house for Sarah S. Moore. A rear ell was added in 1868, and further alternations made in 1890 resulted in a four-story building. Bay windows were added in 1901. The building served as a rooming house for much of the twentieth century until it was purchased by Harvard in 1960. In 2001, Perry and Radford Architects designed an exterior wheelchair ramp south of the building to create an accessible entrance.
