Site Name HistoryThe site was renamed to Blyth House after the 2016 renewal for benefactor Stephen Blyth (PhD '92) who donated funds for the renewal.Historical NotesOriginally known by its street address, 11 Riverview, Blyth House was designed by E. T. Harrington and built as a private residence for the prominent contractor Michael O'Sullivan in 1899.

It was acquired by Harvard in 1932 and is part of Winthrop House, one of Harvard's twelve undergraduate residential communities. In 2016 it was completely renovated as a part of the Riverhouse renewal program and now functions as the Winthrop House Faculty Dean residence.
