Project DescriptionReplace two existing single-speed 250 HP electric motors which drive forced draft (FD) fans that supply combustion air to Blackstone Boilers 11 and 12 and install a variable frequency drive (VFD) for each motor. VFDs will improve Blackstone energy efficiency and lower operating cost when only partial boiler load is required. The motor retrofit will also improve overall power factor of Blackstone electrical systems.
