Biographical InformationBethlehem Steel Corporation was founded in 1904 by Charles M. Schwab and Joseph Wharton as a consolidation of the Bethlehem Steel Company and the Union Iron Works. During the twentieth century Bethlehem Steel became the largest steel manufacturing corporation in America. It filed for bankruptcy and the corporation was dissolved in 2003.
