Edward Larrabee Barnes

Biographical InformationEdward Larrabee Barnes was born in Chicago in 1915. He graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1938 where he studied English and Art History. After graduation he took a position at Milton Academy teaching English and Fine Arts for a year, he then returned to Harvard to study architecture at the Graduate School of Design under Walter Gropius and Marcel Breuer. He graduated from the GSD in 1942. In 1949 Barnes founded the firm Edward Larrabee Barnes Associates in Manhattan.Related Buildings / SitesReferences
