William Dandridge Peck

Biographical InformationWilliam Dandridge Peck, a naturalist, was the first professor of Natural History at Harvard. He was appointed to his position in 1805 by Harvard College and the General Court of Massachusetts. In 1807, with the assistance of William Carter, he established the Botanic Garden at Harvard on seven acres of land north of the College.Related Buildings / SitesReferences
