Site Name HistoryThe site is named after its function and address.Historical Notes38 Oxford Street was designed by the Boston-based engineering firm of Charles T. Main and built for Harvard in 1959 as the Cambridge Electron Accelerator. It served as a research facility on the field of high energy physics until 1974.In 1968, an addition was constructed to the south side.
