Site Name HistoryThe site is named after its function.Historical NotesThe New England Primate Research Center was built to provide a research center for hospitals, universities, and medical schools in the New England area. The funding for construction of the building game from a grant by The National Heart Institute and the United States Public Health Service. The center became known for its research contributions to HIV studies and neuroscience. The center was scheduled for closure in May, 2015.
