Site Name HistoryThe site is named after the designer and previous owner, Charles C. Little.Historical NotesPortions of this site were initially constructed as a private dormitory, the buildings known as Little Hall were purchased by the university in 1918. The site had various uses as a dormitory, tutoring facility, faculty offices and retail stores. One of the tenants was the investment firm of Kidder, Peabody & Co., which occupied the address at 1354 Massachusetts Avenue until moving to a larger office in 1930.These buildings stood on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Dunster Street next to Holyoke House. The block was demolished in 1963 to prepare for the construction of Smith Campus Center formerly known as Holyoke Center.
