Site Name HistoryThe site is named for Nicholas Longworth Anderson, a graduate of Harvard College.Historical NotesThe Anderson Memorial Bridge, often incorrectly called the Larz Anderson Bridge, was built in 1915 as a memorial to Nicholas Longworth Anderson, the father of Larz Anderson III.The bridge, built by the architecture firm, Wheelright, Haven and Hoyt, is in the same spot as the Great Bridge, which was built in 1662 and was the first bridge to span the Charles River.Additional Information
