Site Name HistoryThe site is named for its location and function.Historical NotesThe Mattapan Chronic Disease Hospital occupied a 27 acre parcel in the Boston neighborhood of Mattapan. The hospital primarily treated patients with polio and tuberculosis and later HIV-AIDS. In 1996, after the site became the responsibility of the Board of Health of the City of Boston plans were made for the site’s redevelopment.Additional Information
