Site Name HistoryThe gate is named for the Porcellian Club which donated the funds for its construction.Historical NotesThe Porcellian Gate was erected in 1901 from funds raised by the Porcellian Club which was founded in 1791 by Joseph McKean. It is the only yard gate funded by a student club and is notable for the large stone boar's head sculpture on the keystone of the arch.
