Site Name HistoryThe site is named for George F. Baker, Sr. (1840 – 1931), New York banker and Harvard Business School benefactor. Bloomberg Center is named for William Henry Bloomberg, the late father of New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.Historical NotesBaker Library, a gift of George Fisher Baker, is the centerpiece of the original 1926 Harvard Business School campus, and was designed by McKim Mead and White of New York. In 2005, the building underwent a major renovation and the creation of the Bloomberg Center, designed by Robert A. M. Stern of New York.Additional Information
