Site Name HistoryThe site is named after Edmund Coggswell Converse (1849-1921), a New York financier and a founder of the United States Steel Corporation.Historical NotesConverse Lab was designed in 1928 by Coolidge Shepley Bulfinch and Abbott of Boston to serve as a Harvard chemistry laboratory. The building was funded by the family of Edmund Cogswell Converse.
