Site Name HistoryThe site is named after Professor (later Harvard President) A. Lawrence Lowell (A.B. 1877), whose gift from him and his wife funded construction of what was for many years simply called the "New Lecture Hall".Historical NotesLowell Lecture Hall was designed by Boston architect Guy Lowell (A.B. 1892) and completed in 1902. It was built on land that was formerly occupied by Foxcroft House, a residence hall that was moved up the street and later demolished. Lowell Lecture Hall is used as a lecture hall and performance space.
