James Andrew Shannon, commandant of the Harvard Reserve Officers' Training Corps, who died in 1917 in France during World War I.Historical NotesShannon Hall was built during World War II as an addition to Vanserg Hall to house the Radio Research Lab, which conducted federally funded research on radar-jamming technology.
