Site Name HistoryThe site is named after its address.Historical Notes38 Kirkland Street was built in 1842 and became known as the Joseph Lovering house who resided there. It is the third house constructed on the parcel of land that had been purchased in 1804 from the heirs of John Foxcroft by William Hyslop Sumner and has been owned by Harvard since 1961.
