Site Name HistoryThe site was originally named after the Andover Theological Seminary which was allied with the Harvard Divinity School from 1910 to 1926. The two organizations jointly housed their library collections, which remain here. In 2021, the library was renamed to the Harvard Divinity School Library to eliminate confusion with other institutions and more accurately reflect the identity of the school.Historical NotesThe Harvard Divinity School Library was constructed in 1962, designed by Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott of Boston. The building was expanded and renovated in 2001 to a design by Amsler Woodhouse MacLean Architects of Boston.Additional Information
