Site Name HistoryThe original building is named after Adolph Alfred Taubman, a real estate developer and philanthropist from Michigan. The 2017 addition was named for Idan and Batia Ofer, philanthropists, who donated the funds for its construction.Historical NotesThe Taubman building was completed in 1990 to plans by The Architects Collaborative of Cambridge. It was built for the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

An addition, named the Idan and Batia Ofer Building, was constructed in 2017 as a portion of the Harvard Kennedy School campus transformation project. The Ofer addition was designed by the noted New York-based firm, Robert A. M. Stern Architects.
