Site Name HistoryThe site is named after its address.Historical NotesHarvard acquired the land and house at 136 Irving Street in 1948 and razed the existing building in 1955. The current structure was built in 1981 by Kallmann McKinnell & Wood, who received the Harleston Parker Award which is given annually by the Boston Society of Architects for "the most beautiful piece of architecture, building, monument, or structure within the limits of the City of Boston or of the Metropolitan Parks District."Additional Information1982 winner of the Boston Society of Architects Harleston Parker Medal.
