Howe, built as a private dormitory in 1897, and has been owned by Harvard since purchasing it in 1920. It is a dormitory for first year students. It is one of the "Gold Coast" dormitories. Apley Court was originally one of the "Gold Coast" dormitories built by the Claverly Trust. The Claverly Trust was formed by Harvard alum Charles Wetmore in order to capitalize on the trend for private dormitories in the late nineteenth century.Additional Information
