Site Name HistoryThe site is named for Harvard Dean Chester Noyes Greenough (1874-1938).Historical NotesGreenough Hall was designed by the Cambridge architecture firm of Mowll & Rand, built as a private apartment building in 1922, and acquired by Harvard in 1956. After acquisition, the buidling was renovated for use as a freshman dormitory, with renovations designed by the firm Griswold, Boyden, Wilde & Ames.
