Site Name HistoryThe site is named after Byron Satterlee Hurlbut (1865-1929), dean of Harvard College from 1902 to 1916.Historical NotesHurlbut Hall was built as a private apartment building called Devon Court in 1914, designed by Newhall and Blevins of Boston. The building has been owned by Harvard since 1946, and is used as a dormitory for first year students.
