Jean Paul Carlhian

Biographical InformationJean Paul Carlhian was an architect born in 1920. Carlhian worked with Shepley, Bulfinch, Richardson and Abbott for many decades. Carlhian designed many notable buildings such as the National Museum for African Art and the Sackler Gallery of Asian Art in Washington as well as several classroom, residential and student center buildings at Harvard University. Carlhian also taught at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Northeastern University and at Middlebury College.
