Site Name HistoryThe site is named after the Hastings family, who had a long relationship with Harvard beginning with Jonathan Hastings, A.B. 1730, who was steward of the College from 1750 to 1779.Historical NotesHastings Hall is a Harvard Law School dormitory designed by the Boston firm of Cabot and Chandler. It was completed in 1889. During World War I the building housed activities related to the United States Naval Radio School, which occupied a portion of Harvard's campus from 1917 to 1919.The building was a gift from Walter Hastings whose ancestral home had located at a nearby site.Additional InformationGeneral Information by and about Walter Hastings Hall.
