Site Name HistoryThe site is named after John Leverett (1662-1724), President of Harvard College from 1708 to 1724.
Historical NotesThe Leverett Towers were built in 1960 to a design by Shepley Bulfinch Richardson and Abbott of Boston. They are part of Leverett House, one of Harvard's twelve undergraduate residential communities. Funds for the construction came from 'A Program for Harvard College' which aimed to raise $82,500,000 for the construction of new undergraduate housing for students following the second world war.Additional Information
