Site Name HistoryThe site is named for William James (1842-1910), influential Harvard philosopher and psychologist.Historical NotesWilliam James Hall was designed by noted Detroit-area architect Minoru Yamasaki and completed in 1964. Randall Hall, built in 1898 was demolished to make way for William James Hall.
